On Demand Events

The club is always willing to help out when we can. Typically at a outreach reach events we setup scopes outside and let attendees look through them to see the Moon, planets, and other objects that may be visible at the time. We can also do indoor presentation if requested or if the weather does not cooperate. If you want us to setup scopes or show a presentation for your church, school, event, etc please request and event on our Night sky Network page here there is no charge for these event, however donations support future events and are always appreciated!

The requested information will provide us with all we need to know to put the event on the calendar.

In filling out the form, you will be asked to provide:

1. Requested date and start time
2. Expected number and age of visitors
3. Name of your organization
4. Length of program
5. Facility name
6. Address, City, State, Zip
7. Contact person
8. Contact person’s personal email address and direct personal phone number so you can be reached after hours, if necessary. Your privacy will be respected. (DO NOT use business email address or office phone number.)

Once the form is submitted, we contact you to talk and plan the event.

Sidewalk Astronomy

These events are always fun and always free. We setup scopes at schools, churches, parking lots, etc to show the public what’s out there. To request the a sidewalk event at your location contact observing@atlantaastronomy.org

Georgia Astronomy in State Parks (GASP)

Four to five times a year we go to Georgia state parks and setup scopes to share the sky with the campers and general public. A short presentation is given to familiarize everyone with the night sky and then we invite them onto the field to observe with our scopes. These are always a blast! Astronomy Day

An Annual event held at the Fernbank Science Center and Tellus Science Museum. The individual museums hold the event and we have members on hand to talk to the public and show them the sky through our scopes.

Open Houses

Throughout the year we have these events to invite the public out to one of our sites and show them what the club has to offer the public and its members. We usually have a short presentation followed by Q&A and then observing through different types of telescopes and binoculars. Special Events

We sometimes have special events to observe eclipses, meteor showers, etc. Check our site often for these events.
